Electrical installations

Our engineers are specialists in all aspects of electrical installations, from complete turnkey solutions and major design and build projects to climate controlled vertical farms, energy monitoring, solar energy, and control panels.

When efficiency, integrity, excellence, and value for money are paramount, Lightouch is the number one choice. Our knowledge and skills are second to none, and we are at the forefront of energy-efficient technology.

Our electrical installations cover many services, from delivering solutions that help businesses achieve their net zero targets to installing energy-efficient LED lighting and building electrical control panels.

We are industry leaders, providing a wide range of services to keep your business running efficiently. From electrical installations and upgrades to maintenance and repairs, we handle everything. All businesses are different and have unique requirements, and we’re committed to delivering tailored solutions that meet your specific needs.

We specialise in horticultural PV installations and floating PV systems, as well as standard commercial installations and repairs.

Solar technology is hugely varied, with different options depending on the installation.

We ensure our clients get the most efficient system, expertly installed to prevent failures or faults.

Solar is not ‘fit and forget’. BS 62446-2:2020 covers the periodic inspection and verification of solar PV systems. This prevents loss of output, which can be as much as 50%.

As the number of rooftop solar installation systems has grown over the years, so has the number of reported incidents of fires. Household fires started by electrical faults in rooftop solar PV systems have been reported in the UK, Australia, the USA and France – among others. The periodic testing of the electrical cabling and components associated with solar PV systems will ensure the safe operation of the system and reduce the potential fire risk associated with any electrical faults. Secondly, most domestic systems are a single string, meaning if one panel develops a fault, the rest will be reduced to that level. So, for example, if a 60-cell solar panel has a fault and only 30 cells are generating, thus operating at 50%, then the entire string will operate at 50%.

This will significantly impact the generation of electricity and needs to be identified quickly and resolved.

Periodic testing is essential to maintain the operation of your PV system.

The same applies to commercial installations with multiple strings on a system.

EV Charging

Here at Lightouch Solutions, we offer installation and testing of EV charge points in the workplace, with options for both overground and underground car parks.

Grant funding is available through the Electric Vehicle Home Charge Grant (EVHS) or Workplace Charging Grant (WCS).
