Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA), also known as Vertical Farming, is the process of growing crops in vertically stacked trays on a racking system in a carefully controlled environment. Using precise lighting, heating, humidity and nutrients it is possible to produce high-quality crops all year round.
This method of farming has huge benefits for both farmers and consumers including higher yields that are available all year round. The process uses less energy, takes up less space, reduced disease, allows a bigger choice of crops to be cultivated and gives the farmer better control. Any building can be used as long as it is sealed from outside influences.
At Lightouch Solutions, we have developed interchangeable modular buildings that use bespoke LEDs, power and technology to create the perfect growing environment, allowing farmers to grow more with less.
Sustainability and reduced carbon footprint are at the heart of what we do, we are helping to protect the future of British Farming and to meet the growing demands of consumers who are looking for home-grown food.
